Hello, my name is Addison Horton, bringing you coverage on my next practice journal. Today, is scales day! I will be talking about my scales, how I need to improve them. The scales I played were Db1 Gb2, and G2. Why am I doing these scales you may ask? because, im doing this for Honors Band of course. Now, lets get the reflection.
I think an accurate statement is that I did great on these scales. The Db and Gb2, scales I nailed, but I need a little work on the G2 scale. Being that this scale that is in a sharp key, i'm doing well. I need to work on running the scales up and down, rather than individual scales. I need to work on that because I know the scales individually, but not up and down. This was Addison Horton's practice journal signing off.

Hello, here with another practice journal by Addison Horton. here I will talk about MSBOA yet again. Since I have two pieces to play, I have the second piece to play now. This piece is a lot harder than the other piece because of the range. now, let get in to the reflection.
I think I have made a lot of progress on this. First of was that I have only been practicing this for 1 to 2 weeks. and it has been going very well. I have made lot of progress on the accuracy of the piece, now I need to work on more form type things, such as dynamics, air control, etc. I have also been able to hit the higher note such as Bb flawlessly. This is also a good thing because I need to know how to play that Bb easily. That was my practice journal, Addison signing out.

I did a decent job on this. I could have practiced this a little bit more, because I have been spending time on the other song I have to prepare. I stumbled on some things like note patterens and various things. for next time I practice this, I'm going to make sure that I can get all the rhythms before attempting it again.

Make-up for Journal Entry #3 (Concert Week)
Hello this is Addison bring you another Journal. So, this was the week of the concert and I was very excited about this. I practice and was prepared got pumped for the concert. I just knew it when I stated to warm up, that we were going to do good. and after we did that warm-up on the stage, I was worried that we going to do bad. Next I will describe what the concert was like.
The concert went well. The #1 thing we did well is that are control was very nice. most of the sections in the band were able to control all of dynamics. another thing we were good at was fallowing the conductor. We fallow the conductor well, so because of that, we had an awesome performance. That is why we did good at are concert.

Hello guys, i'm back with A new practice log and going to tell you about how I practiced. Just as a little side note, I have Did not practice to much and I am still trying to perfect the things I practice. so, you will not see any new things in a while. as I say, quality is better than quality. Also, don't expect perfect. I need to practice the excerpts more to get perfect work. now time to talk about the practice.
I think I did a decent job with practicing. What I practiced was the etude again for my MSBOA honors band music. It not going along to well based on how much time I have. If this was a month ago, this would have been good for the amount of time I have. Also, I have to learn how to practice running the song all the way thought other than playing the music in segments. it would be better for me and benefit me in the long run.

Now for the first piece that I played was Sea Trilogy. I have been practicing this song for days now, and I starting to get to the point were I will know all at a decent pace. What I could have done was to practice this a little bit faster because Mr. Ash will ask us to play it faster than I just did. secondly, I would like to say that I was also pretty accurate the way I played it. this is good because if I can play it accurate and fast, that will be the best outcome out there. overall, I think I did an ok job on it.
Now, for the second peace, I just started to practice in the first 30 mins. For 30 min, I think I did ok practicing. Some of the thinks that I could have done better is looking ahead and not stumbling over the music. If I read ahead better, I wouldn't be hesitating over what are the right notes and that notes that I don't want to play. Another thing that I noticed was that I could not slur up to the A very well. If I keep missing it like that, then I will not pass the audition.

Journal Entry #1
before I get started with this journal entry, I will like to say that I have no video and I will try to video tape the next time I practice. now, for my practice today, I did warm ups and started to practice my music for MSBOA Honors band. now, I was sight reading this piece and it was very hard for me, so what I did was slow down the tempo and started to practice slower. most of the note I am starting to learn, but I have got how to subdivide and the tempo. the thinks that I am having the most trouble with is the note. some of the note I have not used very to much so Its a learning process for me. And lastly, I had trouble with some of the counting. because its in 3/8, it a little hard to count because i am not used to 3/8 time.
